The power and leadership positions in our time are the lot of ambitious men and power-seekers and even mercenaries (where there can be a good profit!), who did not disdain any means, even the most dishonest to achieve their goals by resorting to false slogans and false promises, and bribery, and in certain cases - the elimination by killing people they do not want standing in their way. Clean-moral principles in the social, political and public life are now in the overwhelming majority of today's "leaders" non-existent, they are recognized as "obsolete", "do not meet the spirit of the time", and therefore "unsuitable for Business Success", "impractical" and even "harmful". Certainly deep thought reveals truly that the so fashionable "democracy" is devoid of ethical foundations, not to mention the "socialism" and "communism", completely rejecting all morality and humans are seen just as one of the species of animals.

Branding Democracy: U.S. Regime Change in Post-Soviet Eastern Europe
A highly mobile and flexible corporate-dominated new informational economy is the foundation of intensified Western marketing and promotional culture across spatial and temporal divides, enabling transnational interests to integrate territories previously beyond their reach. U.S. «democracy promotion» and interventions in the Eastern European «color revolutions» in the early twenty-first century serve as studies of neoliberal state interests in action.

It never happened. Nothing ever happened. Even while it was happening it wasn't happening. It didn't matter. It was of no interest. The crimes of the United States have been systematic, constant, vicious, remorseless, but very few people have actually talked about them. You have to hand it to America. It has exerised a quite clinical manipulation of power worldwide while masquerading as a force for universal good. It's a brilliant, even witty, highly successful act of hypnosis.

Edward Curtin

Seeking Truth in a Country of Lies — Edward Curtin 2020
The creation of such inanities as accceptable reality and unacceptable reality is necessary for the self-preservation of the super-state against its greatest danger: understanding on the part of the people as to what is really happening. All factors which contribute to it's burgeoning power are exaggerated. All factors which might reveal its corrosive effect on the nation are concealed. The result is to place the populace in the position of persons living in a house whose windows no longer reveal the outside but on which murals have been painted. Some of the murals are frightening and have the effect of reminding the occupants of the outside menaces against which the paternal war machine is protecting them. Other murals are pleasant to remind them how nice things are inside the house.
But to live like this is to live in A Doll's House. If life has one lesson to teach us, it is that to live in illusion is ultimately disastrous. — Jim Garrison, New Orleans District Attorney 1969 Interview
